Easymoc Featured in GQ: Celebrating Craft, Place, and Purpose

We’re thrilled to share that Easymoc is featured in GQ’s new article, How Maine Became the Last Bastion of American Shoemaking. It’s an honor to be included alongside heritage brands like L.L.Bean, Rancourt, Quoddy, and others keeping true craftsmanship alive in the Pine Tree State. GQ

Here’s what this means to us — and a few thoughts from me as the founder.

What's Resonating with the Right People

  • Our commitment to handsewn moccasin construction: every moc you try, pair of ramblers, boots, you name it...are made by hand. As I said in GQ:

“Genuine handsewn moccasin construction isn’t something you can speed up or mechanize … it requires skilled hands, precision, and patience.” GQ

  • Our aim to not only carry on Maine’s shoemaking culture but to push it forward: being part of a new wave of makers with stories, transparency, and quality glued together.

From the Owner — My Perspective

“Producing in the US comes with both pride and pressure. Consumers are more curious and intentional than ever. They want to know who made their shoes, where, and why it matters.” — Gregory Cordeiro GQ

For me, the greatest reward has always been this: that someone who cares where and how their shoes are made can put on a pair of Easymoc and feel that work, tradition, and soul underfoot. I know our shoes are expensive and sometimes thats even hard for me to explain, but if you step back and dissect why, you will understand then, why each pair is worth it. American wages and benefits, hand made every step of the way, the best quality raw materials money can buy and about 95% of which are all sourced domestically.

What This Means Moving Forward

Being in GQ isn’t just a shout-out—it's a responsibility to keep delivering on what we believe in:

  • More stories behind the shoes — the leathers, the hands, the hometown.

  • Keeping craftsmanship at the center. No shortcuts.

  • Expanding what people expect from Made in Maine footwear: that it can be beautiful, rugged, comfortable, and honest in all its parts.

Thanks to everyone who wears, shares, and supports us — especially those who believe in the slow work and the details. We’re proud to be in GQ, but even prouder to be staying true.

— Greg, Easymoc Founder
